Benaki Museum is the oldest active museum organization in Greece. The department of modern architecture archives collects records and archives anything related with Modern Greek architecture since 1830.
This project contains the digitization of the architecture archives from the Biri, Milona, Pikioni, Mitski, “Ksenia”, Despotopoulou collections and covered almost 8.000 documents in various dimensions. These collections are very popular among researchers and scholars. The digitized content was documented under the instructions of the museum. Within the digitization project, a multimedia application was developed in two languages with dynamic content, entitled “N. Chatzikiriakos-Gkikas and the generatinon of ’30s”.
The digitized designs vary in size, material and inveteracy, some of them were larger than 10 meters, and some were made from manila when others were made out of rice paper.
